Rik Kennedy won his first major title at the 30th Winter Matchplay held in Milton Keynes over the weekend of 19th and 20th of November.

Lewis Mackay won a very close and high-scoring game in the 25th and final round in the BMSC to claim the BMSC title for the third time.

The players are gathering at Kent's Hill Park conference centre in Milton Keynes ready for the British Matchplay Scrabble Championships. The BMSC features 25 games that take place over the 3 days of the August Bank Holiday weekend, with the champion due to be crowned late on Monday afternoon.

Brett Smitheram posted a perfect 8-0 record on the final day of the UK National Scrabble Championship to jump from 12th place overnight to the top of the standings to clinch the title of National Champion for the second time.

The 2022 edition of the National Scrabble Championship is underway in Bristol with 54 players in the Championship division and 24 in the Plate division.

The NSC 2022 in Bristol is now just three weeks away and numbers are looking good - we hit 60 paid entries yesterday and still some I know in the pipeline.

The Manx Scrabble Championship is right around the corner, so sign up by 28th April and take a trip over to the Isle of Man for a weekend or stay for longer to explore the island.

A quick reminder that ABSP-rated tournaments starting from today, Tuesday 19th April 2022, must be played using the updated Collins lexicon, CSW21.

This year sees the publication of a new word list – CSW21 – which contains no additions, but 419 deletions from CSW19.
